It seems that with people driving less, they&rsquo;re also crashing their cars less.&nbsp;</font></font></span><span style="color: #333333"><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">&nbsp;</font></span><span style="color: #333333"><a href="http://bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601213&amp;sid=amhk8GZl9uUk&amp;refer=home"><font face="Times New Roman" size="3" color="#800080">http://bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601213&amp;sid=amhk8GZl9uUk&amp;refer=home</font></a></span><span style="color: #333333"><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">&nbsp;</font></span><span style="color: #333333"><font size="3"><font face="Times New Roman">It&rsquo;s not big money &ndash; the accident rate was down one half percent in the first half of the year after rising in 2007, that&nbsp;could add up considering the billions in claims. Plus drivers are driving less and less as gasoline prices rise. MasterCard reported that fuel sales on its cards were off 4 percent around the July 4 holiday. So perhaps the accident rate will fall further.</font></font></span><span style="color: #333333"><font size="3"><font face="Times New Roman">On the downside the cost of steel and plastics are both up a lot &ndash; in both cases higher energy prices play a role &ndash; and they aren&rsquo;t likely to be making money on investing those premiums in the stock market.&nbsp;But I&rsquo;m not holding my breath for a rate cut.</font></font></span><span style="color: #333333"><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">&nbsp;</font></span><span style="color: #333333"><font size="3"><font face="Times New Roman">But I&rsquo;m wondering, are you driving less or going slower?</font></font></span><span style="color: #333333"><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">&nbsp;</font></span>
